I wanted to look at power from a strong female perspective and thought that the concept of the superhero, particularly the female superhero would be a fitting subject of interest. This series of images explore the fantasy of the female superhero and a look behind the scenes look at our superhero on her day off.
I work mainly on self-initiated projects within the UK. My main focus is on documenting community spaces and exploring the relationship between the space, the people who use the space and the activities that take place there. I also have a love for portrait and fashion photography. Sometimes these areas of interest collide.
I’m a recent graduate of the University of Westminster’s photography degree course. My work has been shown at the Free Range Art and Design Show (www.free-range.org.uk) at the Truman Breweries in June 2011 and was also featured in the new online zine - Porte Magazine (www.portemagazine.com).
